DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Delaware Valley University Director of Athletics Dave Duda has announced the hiring of Jimmy Gulden as the next head coach of Aggies baseball.
Gulden brings more than 15 years of collegiate coaching experience, most recently serving nine seasons as the top assistant at Arcadia University. During his tenure, the Knights emerged as a regional powerhouse, winning three MAC Freedom titles (2022, 2023, 2025), earning multiple NCAA Regional appearances, and reaching Top 25 national rankings from 2022 to 2024.
"We are very excited about Jimmy Gulden leading our baseball program," said Duda. "We had an outstanding, deep pool of candidates, and Jimmy emerged with a shared vision of the future of DelVal baseball. His combination of success at our level and within our conference, along with deep recruiting bases, was essential to this search. Jimmy has tremendous passion for working with young student-athletes, and we look forward to working collaboratively with him to achieve great results."
Gulden served as Arcadia's pitching coordinator, overseeing one of the region's most consistent staffs. In 2022, the Knights posted a school-record 40 wins and 332 strikeouts while finishing the season ranked fifth nationally by the ABCA. His staff produced multiple all-conference selections and Pitchers of the Year, and his first season saw reliever Joseph Warren thrive with a 3-0 record, four saves, and 31 strikeouts in just 25.2 innings of work.
Before Arcadia, Gulden spent three seasons as the pitching and catching coach at Susquehanna University. In 2014, the Crusaders won a program-record 30 games, captured the Landmark Conference title, and set a team ERA record (2.81) en route to an NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional appearance.
Gulden began his collegiate coaching career at Bucknell University, where he spent six seasons as the hitting coach and catching coordinator. During his time with the Bison, the program captured two Patriot League postseason championships and set offensive records across the board. He coached 16 All-Patriot League position players, including a freshman All-American and a Capital One Academic All-American.
A former MLB Draft pick, Gulden was selected by the Montreal Expos in 2000 before continuing his collegiate playing career at Virginia Tech and Cleveland State. He holds a bachelor's degree in communication with a minor in business management, and earned a master's degree in sports administration from Lock Haven University in 2014.
Gulden is also the founder and president of the Gulden Baseball Foundation, which operates two summer collegiate teams and organizes regional tournaments under the College Dreamstream series, focused on providing affordable, competitive amateur baseball experiences.
"I'm incredibly honored to be named the next head baseball coach at Delaware Valley University," said Gulden. "I want to thank Athletic Director David Duda and the entire search committee for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to lead the Aggies baseball program.
"This is a special opportunity, and I'm excited to begin the next chapter of Aggies baseball. I look forward to building something our players, alumni, and the entire DelVal community can be proud of.
"I'm also deeply grateful to the many coaches I've worked with over the past nineteen years. Each stop along the way has helped shape me as a coach and a person, and I'm proud of the path that has led my family and me here.
"Most importantly, I want to thank my family for their constant love and support—none of this would be possible without them. I'm fortunate to coach the game I love, and I can't wait to get started."
Gulden will officially begin his duties this summer as the Aggies prepare for the 2026 season.
