Mission Statement:

The primary objective of the Sports Medicine Staff at Delaware Valley University (DVU) is to provide the highest quality healthcare to the university student-athlete population. This is accomplished through prevention, management, recognition, evaluation, first aid and emergency care, and rehabilitation of sport-related injuries.

Sports Medicine Team:

The Delaware Valley Sports Medicine staff utilizes an integrated team approach in providing the best possible care and services to our student-athletes. This team includes a staff of certified athletic trainers, a university health services staff which includes, a physician medical director, certified nurse practitioners, registered nurses and mental health counselors, orthopedic and sports medicine specialty trained physicians, and a variety of other sub-specialty trained healthcare providers across the healthcare spectrum. We are committed to providing optimal care for the well-being and success of our student-athletes.

HOW-TO VIDEO GUIDE

ATS Portal Pre-Participation Forms

  • Create a new ATS Profile (Username: new Password: new) and complete all required demographic information.
  • Upload DelVal Pre-Participation Physical Form Signed by Physician Dated After June 1st
  • Upload Sickle Cell Lab Results or Newborn Screening Results
  • Upload Concussion Vital Signs Baseline Test Confirmation Page
  • Upload Copy of Insurance and Dental Cards (front and back)
  • If prescribed ADHD medications, upload ADHD Physician’s Form found in ATS.
  • Complete the following required forms in ATS:
    • 2025-2026 Student-Athlete Form
    • Medical History
  • Log into ATS Profile and update demographic information (delval2.atsusers.com)
  • Upload DelVal Pre-Participation Physical Form Signed by Physician Dated After June 1
  • Upload Concussion Vital Signs Baseline Test Confirmation Page

Sports Medicine Facility Locations and Hours of Operations

The Athletic Training Facility is ONLY open to the 22 NCAA intercollegiate sports teams. If you are not a part of a DVU sports team, have an injury and need assistance, please visit the Student Health Center in Elson Hall.

The Athletic Training Facility is located in the James Work Gymnasium Complex, between the main lobby and the men's locker room.

Satellite AT Facility (“Container”) is located in the parking lot of James Work Stadium, to the rear of the home bleachers, in front of the main entrance.

Appointments are available Monday-Friday.
  • Non-emergent injury evaluations and treatment/rehabilitation will be available by appointment through the ATS Athlete Portal, click HERE to make an appointment. Rehab appointments are generally available 10am-4pm. How to schedule an appointment?
Weekends: No rehab appointments will be available. An athletic trainer will be available for pre-practice/game treatments and taping.

EQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES PROVIDED: Ice bags, ice, water, plunge pool for cooling, and emergency equipment will be accessible for all playing fields. A Certified Athletic Trainer will attend all home events at Delaware Valley University. Cups will NOT be provided, please make sure your team is traveling with water bottles/cups.

EQUIPMENT/TREATMENT AVAILABLE IN THE ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM: The following equipment is available for your use (Only Certified ATs traveling with their teams) in the athletic training room located in the James Work Gymnasium Complex: whirlpools, hydrocolator packs, therapeutic modalities, ice, taping, and treatment tables.

Visiting team athletic trainers, please make every attempt to tape your own athletes if travel time is less than 2 hours. If assistance prior to a contest when traveling without an athletic trainer is necessary for your team, please double-check your team’s traveling medical kit and send all necessary supplies with your team, including any special instructions. Please do not send a request to tape half of your team’s roster, as we do not have the staff resources available. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
