Baseball Falls 13-1 To Devils

MADISON, NJ. - Delaware Valley struck first and held an early lead, but a big middle-inning surge from FDU-Florham flipped the game and led to a 13–1 final.

Delaware Valley opened the scoring in the second inning, stringing together three hits. Jared Ecenroad and Kody Boyer reached to set the table before Daniel Murphy delivered an RBI single up the middle to make it 1–0.

That advantage held until the fourth, when FDU-Florham broke the game open with a seven-run inning. Diaz sparked the rally with a two-run home run, and the offense continued to roll with RBI hits from Sica and a two-run double by Zamrok. Defensive miscues extended the inning, allowing two additional unearned runs to score as the Devils quickly turned a deficit into a 7–1 lead.

From there, FDU-Florham steadily added on. In the seventh, RBI singles from Longo and Ganca pushed the lead to 10–1. The Devils tacked on three more in the eighth, taking advantage of walks and hit-by-pitches to extend the margin to 13–1.

Delaware Valley collected nine hits on the day, with multiple hits from Liam Martin and contributions from Gavin Migliori, Braedyn Kormanic, and Nathan Fisher, but struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities and left eight runners on base.

On the mound, Travis Loewe took the loss after allowing five earned runs in 3.1 innings, while FDU-Florham's bullpen combined for 7.2 innings of one-run baseball following the early run allowed.

Delaware Valley will look to bounce back on Saturday, April 4 at home for their doubleheader against FDU-Florham at 12:00pm.
