CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Coming off a huge win at home on Friday, the Aggies had a lot of momentum heading into today's doubleheader contest against DeSales.
Game 1 – Delaware Valley 4 – DeSales 9
DeSales capitalized on early miscues to take control of the opener.
The Bulldogs broke the game open in the first inning, scoring five unearned runs behind a pair of errors and a two-run double from Berretta to take a 5–0 lead.
DelVal responded in the second inning, stringing together four runs on RBI doubles from Gavin Migliori and Braedyn Kormanic to cut the deficit to 5–4.
DeSales answered immediately with a run in the bottom half on an RBI groundout, then added insurance in the third and two more in the fifth to extend the lead to 9–4.
Migliori led the Aggies at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two doubles, while Kormanic added a two-run double.
Patrick Flynn took the loss, allowing nine runs, though only three were earned, over 4.1 innings. James DeHaven provided 1.2 scoreless innings of relief with three strikeouts.
Game 2 – Delaware Valley 9 – DeSales 19
A high-scoring second game saw DeSales pull away after a mid-game surge.
The Bulldogs jumped out early with two runs in the first and added six more in the second, highlighted by a two-run home run from Aaron Schneider, to build an 8–0 lead.
DelVal answered with five runs in the third inning, sparked by a two-run home run from Daniel Murphy and RBI contributions from Nathan Fisher, Aidan Devlin, and Kody Boyer to make it 8–5.
After DeSales extended the lead to 12–6 through four innings, the Aggies continued to battle. Gavin Migliori launched a solo home run in the fourth, and DelVal added two more in the fifth on a single from Kody Boyer and a wild pitch to cut the deficit to 12–8.
The Bulldogs pulled away late, scoring four runs in the fifth, two in the sixth on a two-run home run from Bobby Dingell, and another in the seventh to secure the 19–9 final.
Kody Boyer led DelVal with two hits and two RBIs, while Murphy added a home run and two RBIs. Migliori also homered and finished with two hits.
Delaware Valley returns to action on Monday at home against Valley Forge at 3:30pm.
