DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Delaware Valley bounced back from this Sunday's double header loss with a complete performance on both sides of the ball, defeating Valley Forge 11–1.
Delaware Valley combined timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and a strong outing on the mound to control the game throughout.
The Aggies opened the scoring in the second inning. Aidan Devlin led off with a double and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt before Lachlan Segedy brought him home with a sacrifice fly. Later in the inning, Daniel Murphy singled to set the table for Gavin Migliori, who launched a two-run home run to center to extend the lead to 3–0.
Valley Forge answered in the third, taking advantage of a pair of wild pitches to score and cut the deficit to 3–1. DelVal quickly regained momentum in the fourth, as Segedy doubled and eventually came around to score on another wild pitch to make it 4–1.
From there, the Aggies leaned on Damian Pipitone, who delivered a steady start. The right-hander worked seven innings, allowing just one run on seven hits while keeping Valley Forge from building any sustained offense.
DelVal created separation in the later innings. In the seventh, Migliori singled and Liam Martin followed with a hit to put pressure on the defense. An error brought home a run before Jared Ecenroad added a sacrifice fly and Nate Ludwick delivered an RBI single to stretch the lead to 7–1.
The Aggies continued to apply pressure in the eighth. Murphy and Martin each singled to start the inning, leading to a sacrifice fly from Nathan Fisher. Additional runs scored on defensive miscues, including errors that allowed Braedyn Kormanic and Ecenroad to cross the plate, pushing the lead to 11–1.
Offensively, DelVal totaled 13 hits, led by Martin's three-hit day and Migliori's two-hit, two-RBI performance that included his home run. Fisher added two hits, while Segedy contributed both an RBI and a run scored. The Aggies also stayed active on the bases, swiping multiple bags and consistently moving into scoring position.
Aidan Walsh closed out the final inning in relief to secure the victory.
The Aggies hit the road on Wednesday, April 1, heading to Reading for a nonconference against Alvernia at 3:30pm.
