Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's lacrosse team opened up the 2016 season with a 20-3 victory over visiting Rosemont College on Saturday.
It was the first game of the year for both teams. The Aggies came out hot, opening up a 11-0 lead with 14:45 to go in the opening half. Jennifer South ruined the shutout bid with a goal at 20:11. She potted another one 44 seconds later to make the score 11-2. It was 13-3 with 4:06 left in the first half then DelVal closed the contest with seven straight, two in the first and five in the second.
Sophomore
Graeleigh Lackey led the Aggies with six goals and two assists for eight points. The goals and points tallies broke the school records. Sophomore
Taylor Teliszewski scored twice and dished five assists, setting a new University mark. Sophomore
Kara Imes and freshman
Samantha Collyer both registered three goals and two assists. Senior
Jacqueline Ricks and freshman
Taylor Spleen produced three points apiece. Ricks had a goal and two assists while Spleen hit the back of the net twice and assisted on another. Sophomore
Janee' Rhone scored twice while sophomore
Krystal Serdinsky recorded one goal and one assist. Freshman
Amanda Dietrich notched five saves in the win.
South finished with the two goals for Rosemont and Victoria Kasper had the other. Andrea Dossantos stopped 10 shots in goal.
The Aggies are home again on Tuesday, March 1 against Stockton University (4:00 p.m.).
