DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's lacrosse team dropped the contest to Arcadia 19-3 at home on Wednesday evening.
DelVal struggled to get offensive momentum in the first quarter despite shooting 75% percent placing six of its eight shots on Arcadia goalkeeper Emily Griffith. Arcadia's sticks were on fire netting seven goals including one man-up for an early lead.
Arcadia put up five more uncontested goals through the first 13 minutes of the second quarter.
Ashley Birmingham won the draw control off the 13
th goal swiftly bringing it down field and finding the stick of
Charley Lengel-Kramer who drew the foul to earn the free position attempt on the far-left side of the circle. On the whistle, Lengel-Kramer fired at the bottom left of the net to put the Aggies on the board.
The Aggies came out of the half hot with
Daisy Kovacs ripping off the first shot at net.
Anna Kimbel scooped up the loose ball passing it off to
Kyra McKeegan who ultimately found the way back to Kimbel for the shot out front of the net.
The Knights tallied six more goals in the remainder of the game while the Aggies managed to score once more, 19-3.
Abbie Hostetler and Taylor Funcheon collided out in front of the net resulting in an open-goal free position attempt for Hostetler.
The Aggies return to action this Saturday, April 19 when they host FDU-Florham at noon.
