Box Score VERO BEACH (FL) – Delaware Valley University senior centerfielder Kyle Wenger hit for the cycle as he went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and two runs batted in to lead the Aggies to a 3-2 victory over Bridgewater State University.
 
The win improved DelVal to 3-2 on its Spring Break trip, which will end with a doubleheader against Norwich University on Saturday, March 11. The Bears fell to 2-5.
 
Wenger, the 2015 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Player of the Year who missed the final 15 games of last season with an injury, had a double in the first, an RBI triple in the third, a solo home run in the fifth and a single in the seventh. He is now batting .444 in the early going with five extra-base hits and seven RBIs.
 
The Aggies fell behind 2-0 in the first inning as Tyler Morini and Randy Frazier each plated in a run. DelVal got one back in the third as Bobby Altieri had a two-out single and came all the way around to score on Wenger's triple. Wenger's bomb in the fifth then tied the contest.
 
The Aggies took a 3-2 advantage in the seventh as Wenger had a two-out single and then stole second to get into scoring position. That proved big as Sammy Amos followed with a base hit and Wenger was able to get home for what turned out to be the game-winning run. It was one of three hits in four at-bats for Amos.
 
Bridgewater State threatened in the top of the ninth as two batters got on base with nobody out. However, a sacrifice bunt was prevented as pitcher Josh Morgan quickly fielded the ball and threw the lead runner out at third. Ryan Feeney came to the plate and he lined out to Kevin Crill at shortstop and Crill was also able to get the runner out at second for the game-ending double play.
 
DelVal used five pitchers in the game with Crill getting the win with two innings of scoreless relief. Morgan went the final two innings and earned his first save of the season. Mike Nader took the loss in relief for the Bears.
