The Aggies continued their MAC Freedom conference campaign this afternoon, picking up where they left off yesterday in their series contest with Arcadia.
Game 1 Recap – Delaware Valley 3, Arcadia 9
Delaware Valley struck first on Gavin Migliori's solo home run in the opening inning, but Arcadia quickly flipped the game in the second. A two-RBI single from Dicarlantonio tied and gave Arcadia momentum, followed by additional runs aided by a defensive miscue and a wild pitch to make it 4–1.
DelVal responded in the third, cutting the deficit to 4–3 on Aidan Devlin's two-run single after aggressive baserunning from Liam Martin and Matteo Viola. That was as close as it got.
Arcadia created separation in the fourth. Oswald delivered a two-run single, and Stennett added an RBI triple to extend the lead to 7–3. They tacked on two more in the seventh with back-to-back RBI doubles from Pustilnik and Shandler.
Arcadia finished with 11 hits, led by Stennett's three-hit day and Dicarlantonio's two RBIs. Delaware Valley collected seven hits but struck out eight times and couldn't sustain pressure after the third inning.
Game 2 Recap – Delaware Valley 4, Arcadia 7
Delaware Valley opened strong again, scoring twice in the first on Matteo Viola's two-RBI single after smart baserunning put multiple runners in scoring position.
Arcadia answered immediately in the second, tying the game on RBI singles from Radigan and Wheeler. The turning point came in the fourth when Wheeler delivered a two-run double to give Arcadia a 4–2 lead.
Arcadia added on in the fifth with an RBI single from Shandler, while DelVal got one back on a wild pitch to make it 5–3. In the seventh, Shandler provided the biggest swing of the game, launching a two-run home run to push the lead to 7–3.
Delaware Valley scratched across a run in the bottom half of the seventh on a groundout by Viola, but couldn't complete the comeback. Arcadia's pitching staff combined for 10 strikeouts and limited damage late.
Shandler led the way with three RBIs, while Wheeler added three hits and three RBIs. Delaware Valley showed flashes offensively but left 10 runners on base, which proved costly.
The Aggies head into their final week of the regular season with their last nonconference contest against Albright on Wednesday, April 22nd at 3:30pm.
