FROSTBURG (MD) – Senior captain
Stefania Swider scored with 25:03 remaining in the second half to give the Delaware Valley University field hockey team its first victory of the season, 1-0 over Ohio Wesleyan University in the first round of the Frostburg State University Tournament on Saturday.
The Aggies (1-3) advanced to the championship game against the host Bobcats on Sunday, September 11 (1:00 p.m.). Frostburg State defeated Randolph-Macon College, 4-0 in the other first round contest.
Swider's goal, her first of the year, was assisted by junior

Rosie Bishop stopped two shots for her first collegiate win and shutout. DelVal outshot the Battling Bishops by a 13-7 margin, 7-2 in shots on goal.
Ohio Wesleyan goalkeeper Jackie Feliciano made six saves. The Bishops had two penalty corners in the final four minutes but could not find the equalizer, sending two shots wide of the cage in that time.
