Miller’s Lone Goal Leads Aggies to Victory Over FDU-Florham

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Delaware Valley field hockey team struck early and held strong defensively to secure a 1-0 victory over FDU-Florham in their final home contest of the season.

The Aggies found the back of the cage just minutes into the opening quarter. Off their first penalty corner, Kaylee Hartung sent the insert to Kenzie Boyd, who pushed the ball to Brynne Miller. Miller worked around a defender and fired a shot into the bottom left corner to give DelVal the 1-0 advantage. FDU-Florham responded with pressure on its first corner attempt of the frame, forcing goalkeeper Brooke Golbeski and defender Jillian Collins to make key stops before the Devils eventually sent a shot wide to end the threat.

DelVal carried the momentum into the second quarter, dictating play with five shots and four penalty corners. The Aggies continued to apply pressure, while the defense limited the Devils to one late corner opportunity in the final seconds. Golbeski stood tall again to preserve the lead heading into halftime.

The Devils earned the first corner of the second half, but DelVal's defense quickly shut down the chance and drew a foul to flip possession. The Aggies responded with shots from Maggie Fijal and Hartung before earning another corner nine minutes into the period. Back-to-back attempts were blocked, forcing a third corner, but DelVal was unable to convert.

In the fourth quarter, the Aggies again controlled the pace, firing seven shots as they looked to extend the lead. Fijal, Alex Graffius, Miller, Ava Smadi, and Boyd all created scoring opportunities, but the Devils' defense held firm. Still, DelVal's early goal and dominant possession proved enough as the Aggies sealed the 1-0 victory on their home turf.

The Aggies finish out the 2025 season on the road this Saturday, Nov. 1 at Misericordia for a 1 p.m. start.
