DelVal Women's Lacrosse Falls At Rutgers-Camden

Box Score CAMDEN (NJ) – Delaware Valley University saw its three-game winning streak come to an end as host Rutgers University-Camden handed the Aggies a 14-5, non-conference loss.

DelVal, which won two games in its inaugural season, slipped to 4-2 on the year. The win improved the Scarlet Raptors to the same mark.

The Aggies struck first as Samantha Collyer took a pass from Taylor Teliszewski and scored just 1:45 into the contest. Rutgers-Camden evened it up three minutes later, but DelVal connected twice in a 51-second span for a 3-1 lead. Lydia Spakosky scored off a Taylor Spleen assists and Krystal Serdinsky set up Graeleigh Lackey for her team-best 21st goal of the season.

However, the Scarlet Raptors scored four straight goals for a 5-3 lead. Serdinsky made it a one-goal contest off a feed from Teliszewski, but Rutgers-Camden notched the final five tallies of the first half, including two from Cecilia Gross, for a 10-4 advantage.

DelVal opened the second-half scoring as Collyer struck again. The Scarlet Raptors answered with goals from four separate players for the 14-5 final. Rutgers-Camden, which got off 37 shots in the game, was led by Nicole Martin's three goals and four assists. Gross and Krystal Valianti also had hat tricks.

Collyer had two goals on five shots. Spakosky added three ground balls while freshman Amanda Dietrich had a season-high 15 saves.

DelVal will look to get back on the winning track when it hosts Moravian College on Saturday, March 26.
