DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Delaware Valley women's lacrosse fell to DeSales, 20-0, as the Bulldogs controlled the pace from the opening draw and built and early commanding lead.
DeSales struck quickly and consistently, piling up goals throughout the first half to take a double-digit advantage into the break. The Aggies struggled to generate sustained offensive pressure, finishing with limited shot opportunities while facing heaving defensive pressure.
Despite the scoreline, DelVal showed effort on the defensive end with goalkeeper
Emily Drake turning aside 13 shots to slow runs at key moments. The Aggies were able to force a handful of turnovers and create brief transition changes leading to five attempted shots on goal, led by sophomore
Charley Lengel-Kramer, but were unable to convert against a strong DeSales defense.
The Bulldogs continued their attack in the second half, adding to their total in each of the final two quarters to secure the shutout win.
Lengel-Kramer and
Abbie Hostetler finished the game with six shots each. Hostetler contributed two of the team's five attempted shots on goal including a powerful first shot on goal of the game for the Aggies just out front of the net and Bulldogs goalkeeper.
Piper Jones was steady on both sides of the ball winning three total draw controls and scooping up four ground balls.
DelVal is back in action this Saturday, April 18 when they travel to FDU-Florham for a 12 p.m. matchup.
