WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Delaware Valley closed out its season on a high note Thursday afternoon, using a strong start and steady offensive pressure to secure a 12-10 conference victory over King's.
The Monarchs opened the scoring with two quick goals in the first two minutes, but the Aggies responded swiftly.
Charley Lengel-Kramer got DelVal on the board with the first of her three goals, finishing an assist from
Abbie Hostetler. After King's added another, the Aggies seized control, rattling off five unanswered goal, three from Hostetler and two from
Gabriella Guerra, to take a 6-3 lead into the second quarter.
DelVal carried that momentum into the next frame, as Lengel-Kramer struck again with a man-up goal less than a minute in. King's answered with one, but the Aggies closed the half strong behind two goals from
Katie Martin, heading into the break with a 9-4 advantage.
King's mounted a push in the second half, holding DelVal scoreless in the third quarter while netting three goals to trim the deficit to two. The Aggies regained control early in the fourth, with back-to-back goals from Martin and Hostetler extending the lead to 11-7. The Monarchs responded with two more, but
Rachel Walkup added an insurance goal, her first of the season, to keep DelVal in front. King's managed one final tally, but the Aggies held on down the stretch to secure the win.
Hostetler led the offensive effort with four goals on 13 shots, including 10 on target, and added a team-high five draw controls. Jones paced the defense with seven ground balls, while goalkeeper
Emily Drake played all 60 minutes, recording eight saves on 18 shots faced.
The victory marks Delaware Valley's first conference win of the season and brings the 2026 campaign to a close with a 5-12 overall record and a 1-6 mark in conference play.
