DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's lacrosse team faced a tough test against conference powerhouse Stevens, falling 22-0, in the final home contest of the season.
Stevens controlled the pace early, building an 11-0 lead after the first quarter and extending the margin to 16-0 by halftime. Despite the deficit, the Aggies continued to compete defensively and worked to slow the Ducks' high-powered offense over the final two quarters.
DelVal's defense remained active throughout, battling against a relentless Stevens attack that has pushed the team into the national rankings. The Aggies limited some of the early-game momentum in the second half holding the Ducks to just six more goals.
The Aggies looked to generate opportunities firing off six total shots in the game led by
Charley Lengel-Kramer with four shots with three landing on the goal.
Katie Martin and
Abbie Hostetler both generated good looks at the net but were unable to breakthrough Stevens' strong defensive unit.
Goalkeeper
Emily Drake played all 60 minutes in the cage with another double-digit save game tallying 11 saves on the day.
The Aggies will look to regroup in their final conference contest of the season this Thursday, Apr. 23 at King's at 4 p.m.
