Box Score ABINGTON (PA) – The Delaware Valley University volleyball team wrapped up its 2016 campaign with a 3-1 road loss at Penn State Abington on Thursday evening. Set scores were 25-14, 25-20, 21-25 and 25-21.
The Aggies, under first-year head coach
Hugh Williams, finished with a 6-16 mark. The Lions upped their record to 20-8.
DelVal had a solid hitting night with 27 kills, including 11 in its third set triumph. They also notched 10 aces, but gave up 18 to Penn State Abington.
Kayla Bracken was the top hitter with 11 kills and just two errors. She also added five digs and four blocks.
Kate Woolsey racked up seven kills, three service aces and two blocks in her freshman finale.
Alexis Sideris added six kills and six digs and
Jess Holster had a team-high 13 digs. Seniors
Nicole Daigneault (14 assists, eight digs) and
Lilly Gilbert (eight digs) wrapped up their collegiate careers.
For the Lions, Sam Amaro had 17 kills and 13 digs. Maddi Richard served up six aces and added 15 digs.
