Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Juniata College senior Sarah Bilheimer tallied the winning goal with 1:14 remaining to give the Eagles a 2-1 victory over the host Delaware Valley University field hockey team on Saturday.
Bilheimer gathered a loose ball and dribbled around multiple Aggie defenders on her way to the cage. DelVal has an even 3-3 record while Juniata is 2-4.
The Eagles scored first with 4:25 left in the first half. Freshman Becca Waite sent in a cross from the right side that was directed in by junior Brittani LaFollette. The Aggies tied the game just 2:07 into the second period when junior
Stefania Swider streaked up the right side and dribbled around two Eagle defenders before getting the shot away.
DelVal hung in the game despite being outshot by a 26-2 margin. Senior keeper
Emily Aldridge made 16 saves in goal. Juniata freshman Kylie Edwards played 47:53 and stopped one shot to earn the decision while freshman Santana Mays saw 22:07 of action.
The Aggies are home again on Tuesday, September 22 against Widener University (7:00 p.m.).
