Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Eastern University had four players score three or more goals as the visiting Eagles cruised to a 16-3, Freedom Conference victory over Delaware Valley University.
The Aggies fell to 2-9 overall and 0-4 in league play with just two games to play in their inaugural regular season. Eastern saw its record improve to 4-9 and 2-2 as it fights for a berth in the Freedom Conference postseason tournament.
The Eagles got out to a 7-0 lead just seven minutes into the contest as Doylestown native Stephanie Hogan picked up three goals and two assists during that run. Delaware Valley got on the board just 30 seconds after Hogan's third tally when
Lydia Spakosky sprinted through the middle of the Eastern defense and beat the keeper for her ninth of the year.
Jenn McKelvie and Julie Haggan earned their second and third tallies of the night respectively to give the Eagles a 9-1 advantage at halftime.
In the second half, Anna Charlebois opened the scoring for Eastern with her second of the night and Haggan added her fourth to extend the lead to 11-1 with 18:41 to play. Then, with 17 minutes on the clock,
Kelsey Kilpatrick cleared the ball for the Aggies and set up
Kara Imes in front of the net for her 12
th goal of the season.
Haggan responded with her game-high fifth goal of the game as the Eagles went on to score five straight before
Graeleigh Lackey picked up her team-best 18
th goal of the year on an unassisted tally for the 16-3 final.
Joining Haggan with three or more goals in the game for Eastern was Chalebois with four and Hogan and McKelvie who each found the net three times. Nicole Martin added one tally of her own while Cortney Andes and Alina Odjemski combined for nine saves in goal as Andes earned the win.
The Aggies got goals from Imes, Lackey and Spakosky while Kilpatrick earned the only assist. Imes added six draw controls and three ground balls.
Sarah Fenwick made eight saves between the pipes.
