Box Score DALLAS (PA) – Misericordia University led 10-0 at the end of the first half as it ran away with a 15-2, Freedom Conference victory over visiting Delaware Valley University.
The Cougars improved to 5-6 overall on the season and 2-0 in conference play while the Aggies dropped to 2-8 and 0-3.
Misericordia got on the board just 32 seconds into the game when Alexandra Elmes scored an unassisted tally for her 17
th of the year. Brooke North scored the next two goals and the Cougars leading goal scorer, Melina Juliano, found the back of the cage three times in the first half, bringing her season-total to 22.
Delaware Valley opened the scoring in the second half when
Lydia Spakosky capitalized on a free position shot for her seventh goal of the year as she is now 3-for-6 overall on free position opportunities.
Just over a minute later, Misericordia earned a free position attempt of its own and Olivia Garcia found the back of the net to regain the 10-goal lead. The Cougars scored four more times before the Aggies' leading goal scorer,
Graeleigh Lackey, scored her 16
th of the season off a free position.
Misericordia got off 31 shots compared to just six for Delaware Valley and the Cougars also held advantages of 28-14 in ground balls and 14-5 in draw controls.
The Aggies were 11-for-15 on clear attempts and 2-for-2 in free position shots. Goaltender
Sarah Fenwick made 12 saves.
