DELVAL WOMEN'S LACROSSE ROUTS CEDAR CREST, 22-10, FOR PROGRAM'S FIRST WIN

Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – It was a day of firsts for the Delaware Valley College women's lacrosse team as the Aggies were victorious in their home opener thanks to a 22-10, non-conference triumph over Cedar Crest College.
 
Delaware Valley, which dropped its inaugural game at Richard Stockton College this past Saturday, improved to 1-1 on the season. It was the season debut for Cedar Crest.
 
The Falcons scored just 64 seconds into the game, but the Aggies evened it up 16 ticks later as Kara Imes started her big day with a tally. It began a five-goal spurt over a three-minute span with Imes and Taylor Teliszewski picked up two goals apiece and Graeleigh Lackey adding the other.
 
Cedar Crest cut its deficit down to 5-3 before Delaware Valley got goals from three different players to build the advantage to five. It was still a five-goal at 11-6 when the Aggies struck for the final four tallies of the first half for a 15-6 advantage. Lackey notched two of the four goals.
 
Delaware Valley netted the first two of the second stanza before the Falcons answered with two as well. The Aggies then got four unassisted goals from four different players for a 21-8 lead. After Cedar Crest hit double digits in goals, Lydia Spakosky ended Delaware Valley's big day with her third tally of the game with just 38 seconds left.
 
Delaware Valley held advantages of 36-19 in shots and 27-21 in ground balls. Imes finished with five goals and two assists while Teliszewski had four goals and two helpers. Lackey (four goals, one assist) and Nicolette Angelella (three goals, two assists) had points apiece. Angelella also added five ground balls. Sarah Fenwick had 10 saves in the win.
 
Emily Rodenberger netted four goals while Vivianna Samite had three tallies and one assist for the Falcons. Kristen Payes was credited with nine saves in net.
