Box Score 3 FORT PIERCE (FL) -- The Delaware Valley College baseball team concluded its Spring Break trip to Florida with a 6-4 run as the Aggies won two of their final three games. They swept a doubleheader from Hilbert College, 2-0 and 5-3, on Friday and followed with an 8-3 setback to Western Connecticut State on Saturday.
In the twinbill with Hilbert, Delaware Valley starters
Mike Kearney and
Trevor Dalton were stellar. Kearned pitched six-plus innings in the opener and allowed just five hits while striking out four en route to his first win of the year. Dalton improved to 2-0 as he went five innings and gave up three runs (two earned) and five hits.
Casey Paholski got the last out of the first game with two on for his third save of the year.
Ben Lippincott went two innings in the nightcap for his first save.
Delaware Valley got single runs in the second and seventh innings of the opener for its tallies.
Austin Bregman went 2-for-4 with an RBI while
Bobby Altieri was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Nate Cummings scored both runs. The second game saw the Aggies hold leads of 4-0 and 5-2.
Kevin Crill was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs. Altieri,
Liam Constantine and
Kyle Wenger were each 2-for-3.
Saturday's contest with Western Connecticut State saw Delaware Valley get a run in the fourth as Wenger singled, stole second and scored on
Jeremy Stewart's run-scoring single. The Aggies also two in the seventh on an RBI double by
Samuel Amos and an RBI single from Bregman. However, Western Connecticut State put one on the board in the third, three in the fourth, one in the seventh, two in the eighth and one in the ninth. Bregman and
Matt DeWald had two hits apiece while Constantine took the loss on the mound.Â
