Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) –
Nikki Dunlap and
Karla Keler each had two goals and two assists while
Keri Helmrich added two goals and a helper to lead host Delaware Valley University to a 7-0 thumping of non-conference foe Immaculata University.
The win gave the Aggies a 1-1-2 record over their last four games and a 4-11-3 mark on the season. The Mighty Macs slipped to 3-12-2.
DelVal easily surpassed its previous game high of four goals this season as it connected six times alone in an explosive first half. Dunlap started the scoring just 4:18 in as the 2014 all-conference honoree took a touch pass from Keler and blasted it past the goalie.
Ten minutes later, Keler sent a cross from the right that Helmrich one-timed to freshman
Starr Sargent-Boone, who put it in for her third goal of the season. Keler then struck for her seventh and eighth tallies of the year in a six-minute span just past the midway point of the half. Both were assisted by Dunlap as the first was a cross that gave Keler a wide-open net and the second was a pass that was one-timed high into the twine.
Helmrich then picked up her two goals in a 47-span in the closing moments of the half. The first was a breakaway that was set up by Sargent Boone with 4:03 to go and then second was off a feed from
Juls Previte. Helmrich has three goals on the year.
Dunlap made it 7-0 just 11 minutes into the second stanza as
Kylie Williams sent her in on a breakaway and she didn't miss for her eighth tally of the season.
DelVal had advantages of 23-8 in shots and 6-2 in corners.
Emily Schukraft made her first collegiate start in net and the freshman stopped five shots, en route to her first win and shutout. Allie Tracey had six saves for Immaculata.
The Aggies will close out their 2015 season when they host Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) for King's College for Senior Day on Saturday, October 31 (5:00 p.m.).
