DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Delaware Valley University women's soccer team fell to Arcadia University, 4-0, on Tuesday afternoon as the Aggies' offense struggled to find rhythm against the Knights.
Arcadia had a pair of shots blocked in the opening minutes before finally breaking through when Jones found the back of the net 8:53 into the match. Nicole Ocejo made back-to-back saves on Marcinkiewicz near the midway point of the half and added two more stops late to keep the game within reach, sending DelVal into halftime trailing 1-0.
Ocejo stayed busy early in the second half, making four saves in the opening two minutes after kickoff. Hannah Dahl was dealt a yellow card before the Knights doubled their lead in the 75th minute when Kiousis headed in a goal off a corner. Kiousis struck again just a few minutes later, finishing a one-time pass from Salt to make it 3-0. With 1:11 remaining, a foul in the box led to a penalty kick that Stephens converted for the 4-0 final.
Ocejo racked up 16 saves—tying her career high—while the Aggies were unable to record a shot on goal.
Following the loss, Delaware Valley falls to 3-11-1 overall and 0-4 in MAC Freedom play. The Aggies return to action on Saturday, October 25, when they travel to FDU-Florham for a 6:00 p.m. kickoff.
