MADISON, N.J. – Delaware Valley women's soccer was held scoreless despite several chances, falling to FDU-Florham 5-0 on Saturday.
Bishop fired the first shot of the match just wide, but two minutes later, a foul by Dekota Barthold set up a free kick that forced Nicole Ocejo into her first save of the afternoon. Ocejo made another stop moments later, but Nolan broke through in the 10th minute to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Right off the restart, Jenna Green sent a shot over the crossbar for the Aggies' first attempt. In the 25th minute, Erin Shuey registered DelVal's lone shot on goal, which was saved. Ocejo turned away back-to-back shots in the 33rd, but following a throw-in, Williams doubled FDU's advantage.
Early in the second half, Jarleny Aguilar-Acuna had a shot blocked before the Devils countered and Letizia found the back of the net to make it 3-0. Ten minutes later, Aguilar-Acuna hit the post to set up a corner, but the Aggies couldn't convert. The Devils capitalized on the next possession, as Duffie scored in the 60th minute. Rivera added one more in the 79th to seal the 5-0 final.
Following the loss, the Aggies fall to 3-12-1 overall and 0-5 in MAC Freedom play. DelVal wraps up its road slate on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at Misericordia.
