Box Score 2 DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College captured its Freedom Conference series with King's College as the Aggies took game two of a home Sunday twinbill. They dropped the first game, 6-4, but bounced back with a 9-5 triumph in the nightcap. 
The series began on April 9 with Delaware Valley holding on for a 9-8 victory in Wilkes-Barre. It was the first of six conference games in a five-day span for the Aggies as they played a three-game series with Misericordia University in-between. Delaware Valley is 11-11 overall and 5-9 in the Freedom while the Monarchs are 7-11 and 5-8. 
Zach Kulikowski started his second game on the mound this season in the nightcap and his Aggie teammates gave him an early lead as they tallied three runs on four hits in the bottom of the first. 
Pete O'Hara doubled to start the stanza and, one batter later, 
Kyle Wenger singled to drive him in. With two outs and Wenger on second, 
Jordan Heisler delivered an RBI single. Heisler then scored when 
Corey White smacked a double to center field. 
Both teams scored in the second as King's Dan Tully hit a solo home run and Delaware Valley's 
Brandon Bell brought in 
Bobby Altieri with an RBI single. The Monarchs also scored in the third thanks to an RBI triple by Joe Zito. 
Delaware Valley upped its lead to 8-2 as it plated four runs on three hits in the fourth inning. Wenger knocked one in on a sacrifice fly while 
Connor Buhler and White had base knocks to drive in a run apiece. Another scored on a wild pitch. 
King's made things interesting in the sixth as it scored three runs on three hits and a pair of Aggie errors. Bell added an insurance run in the bottom of the stanza with the senior's second home run of the season (both this weekend). 
Bell finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs while Wenger and White were each 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Kulikowski went four innings and allowed two runs, en route to his first win (1-1). 
Casey Paholski pitched three innings of relief for his second save. 
Tully led the Monarch attack as he went 3-for-4 with a double, home run, two runs scored and two RBIs. He pitched three-plus innings and took the loss. Anthony Lizzi was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles. 
The opener saw the teams each score single runs in the first and third innings and the game went into the sixth tied at 2-2. For Delaware Valley, O'Hara walked in the first, moved to third on two errors and scored on a Wenger ground out. Wenger then notched an RBI single in the third to knock in Bell, who had doubled. King's got an RBI double from Zito in the first and an RBI double from Greg Bartle in the third. 
The Monarchs took the lead for good in the sixth thanks to four runs on three hits and two Aggie errors. Peter Kelly had a sacrifice fly and the big blow was a one-out, three-run double to straightaway center field by Zito. 
Delaware Valley responded with two runs in its half of the inning with RBI doubles by 
Michael Anusky and Heisler. The Aggies then had the tying run on second and the winning run on first as they loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh. However, a fielder's choice out at the plate and a strikeout ended the game.
Buhler was 2-for-3 while Wenger was 1-for-3 with two RBIs for the Aggies. 
Ben Lippincott took the loss in relief. 
Cody Patton picked up the win for King's while Bartle notched his second save of the season. Zito was 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs.
