PRICHETT SCORES TWO AGAIN, DELVAL FIELD HOCKEY BLANKS ALBRIGHT

Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College sophomore forward Taylor Prichett stayed on fire as she had her second straight, multiple-goal game and fourth of the season as the Aggies blanked visiting Albright College, 3-0, in a non-conference contest.

Delaware Valley improved to 5-2 overall and remained perfect (4-0) on its new turf field. It was also the second straight win as part of a six-game homestand for the team. Albright fell to 2-5 with the loss.

Prichett gave the Aggies all the scoring they would need with 58 seconds left in the opening half as she took a feed from Bree Musselman right in front of the cage and put it past Lion goalkeeper Marguerite DeLucas.

Delaware Valley made it 2-0 just 10 minutes into the second stanza as Jessica Summers took a shot from the top of the circle and freshman Stefania Swider was there to deflect it up and into the netting for her first collegiate goal. It was just the second game that Swider played in as she missed the first five with an illness.

Albright had a golden opportunity to cut the Aggie lead in half as it was awarded a penalty stroke with 10:42 remaining. Chelsea Klein lined up for the stroke and sent a shot toward the low right corner. However, goalkeeper Sandra Edwards was able to stop the shot with her left blocker to keep the lead at 2-0.

Six minutes later, Prichett notched her ninth goal of the season as she started a corner play but hitting the ball to Lydia Spakosky at the top left of the circle. Spakosky, who had a big defensive save in the opening half, sent the ball back to Prichett who deflected it into the short side.

Delaware Valley held advantages of 16-7 in shots and 10-5 in corners. Edwards made four other saves in addition to the stop of the penalty stroke for the senior's first shutout of the year. DeLucas had eight saves for Albright.
