AGGIES BASEBALL DROPS 6-5 CONTEST AT IMMACULATA

Box Score IMMACULATA (PA) – In the final non-conference game for both teams, Immaculata University scored three runs in the bottom of the first and never relinquished the lead as the Mighty Mac posted a 6-5 victory over visiting Delaware Valley College.

Immaculata improved to 13-16 on the season while the Aggies, who have dropped eight, one-run games, fell to 16-19. Delaware Valley will wrap up its season with this weekend's three-game Freedom Conference series with Eastern University (nine-inning game at Eastern on Friday, doubleheader at Delaware Valley on Saturday).

The Mighty Macs notched three hits and took advantage of one Aggie error in the three-run first. Elijah Vottero and Michael Lascomb each had RBI doubles in the stanza.

Delaware Valley made it a one-run game in the fourth as Jeff Sennett walked and Connor Buhler singled. Both moved up a base on a sacrifice bunt and they scored on Jordan Heisler's two-run double to left field. However, Immaculata responded with two in the bottom of the inning on Vottero's two-run single.

The Mighty Macs made it 6-2 in the sixth on a double steal. The Aggies made it a ballgame in the seventh as they loaded the bases with two outs and Buhler ripped a three-run double to right-center. However, he was the last Delaware Valley player to reach base as Immaculta held on for the win.

Vottero was 2-for-5 with three RBIs. Dan Whalen picked up the win while John Ryan notched his first save.

Buhler was 3-for-4 with three RBIs while Heisler was 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Tyler Hymers pitched one inning and suffered the loss. Mike Kearney and Jake Richard combined to allow just one earned run (three total) and strike out eight over the final eight innings.
