Box Score 1 DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College was one of the hosts of this year's Middle Atlantic Conference Crossover Tournaments and the Aggies dropped decisions to Lebanon Valley College and Lycoming College.
Delaware Valley (8-10) kicked off the tournament with the first match of the day against the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen and lost in four sets (25-14, 22-25, 25-15, 25-12). The final of four matches on the day saw the Aggies fall to the Warriors in a five-set battle (25-23, 22-25, 23-25, 25-18, 15-7).
FDU-Florham was the remaining team at the tournament but neither the Devils and Delaware Valley (Freedom) nor Lebanon Valley and Lycoming (Commonwealth) played each other in league matches.
After dropping the first set to Lebanon Valley, the Aggies were able to bounce back in the second to steal a 25-22 victory. However the Flying Dutchmen countered by winning the final two sets.
Alyssa Riggins led Delaware Valley with eight kills while
Gina Page had seven to go along with 15 digs and two blocks.
Crystal Ronan facilitated with 24 assists, three service aces and 10 digs over the four sets.
Greta Weidemoyer and Alli Quirk led the charge for Lebanon Valley with 17 and 12 kills respectively. Quirk added five blocks while Weidemoyer had four of her own. Kacey Musselman also played a nice match, assisting on 38 points and picking up six digs for the Flying Dutchmen.
In the final match against Lycoming College, the Aggies fought hard behind 14 kills from both Page and Gluch, but fell in the fifth set. After losing in the first set, Delaware Valley rallied in the second and third to squeak out two close wins and give them a 2-1 set lead with a chance to close out the match in the fourth set. After being tied at 5-5 in the fourth, the Aggies were unable to get ahead of the Warriors, who tied the match and sent it to a fifth and final set. Delaware Valley struggled to gain any momentum and dropped the last set 15-7.
Crystal Ronan had four kills, 43 assists and 19 digs in this match.
Lycoming was led by Bethany Richardson and her 19 kills while Kirstine Jahn had 12 kills and three blocks. Kately McKillop notched 50 assists, 15 digs, and one block for the Warriors.
Lebanon Valley and Lycoming each defeated FDU-Florham to finish the day with perfect 2-0 records.
