DELVAL OPENS SEASON WITH RAIN-SOAKED 5-0 WIN

FORT PIERCE (FL) -- A delayed start and three rain delays did not derail Delaware Valley College as the Aggies opened the 2012 season with a 5-0 victory over Geneva College on the team's Spring Break trip to Florida. The game was called in the top of the seventh inning due to the weather.

Junior Cody Hudnall got the season-opening start on the mound and he did not disappoint. He finished with a two-hit shutout and he walked one while striking out a career-high 11.

Delaware Valley got on the board in the third as Pete O'Hara led off with a double and eventually scored on a RBI fielder's choice by Jake Barben. A Brandon Bell RBI on a fielder's choice in the fourth brought home Jim Calabrese to make it 2-0. The Aggies got their remaining runs in the seventh as Calabrese had an RBI single and two other scored on a Geneva error.

Dan Hrubos went 2-for-3 with a stolen base to pace the Aggie offense.
