FORT PIERCE (FL) – Delaware Valley College ended its Spring Break trip to Florida by splitting a non-conference doubleheader with Hilbert College on Friday. The Aggies dropped an 11-8 decision in the opener, but bounced back with a 13-1 triumph in the second contest.
Delaware Valley returns to Doylestown with a 6-5 overall record and will hit the field at home against Ursinus College for a non-conference tilt on Tuesday, March 20.
The first game saw the duo of Jim Pernick and Chris Hoak pace the Hawks (3-5). Pernick went 3-for-4 with four RBIs while Hoak drove in three runs with a 3-for-5 effort.
Delaware Valley was led offensively by 
Cory Weingart as he went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs. 
Matt Bodine had two hits and drove in two while 
Pete O'Hara was 2-for-5 and scored once. 
Jim Calabrese went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI. 
Spencer Smith took the loss in relief.
The nightcap was all Aggies starting with 
Jeff Sennett on the mound. He went the full seven innings and allowed just one run on six hits. He walked none and fanned three.
Weingart had another three-RBI game as was 2-for-4 at the plate. 
Brandon Bell (2-for-3) also plated three runs while Calabrese knocked in two on a 2-for-4 showing. O'Hara went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, two runs scored and two RBIs.
