19TH-RANKED EASTERN EARNS 6-0 WIN OVER DELVAL

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Jess Jaindl scored three goals while Brittany Moyer had three assists as four-time defending Freedom Conference champion and nationally-ranked Eastern University secured a first-round home game in the upcoming tournament with a 6-0 victory over host Delaware Valley College.

The Eagles, who moved into the Division III rankings at the number 19 position earlier in the day, improved to 13-5 overall in the Freedom. They finished tied with King's College atop the conference standings, but King's earned the top seed thanks to a head-to-head win earlier in the year.

Meanwhile, the Aggies will also be part of the Freedom tournament for the third time in the last four years and just one season removed from a three-win campaign. Tuesday's setback dropped them to 7-10 overall and 4-3 in the Freedom. They finished fourth in the standings and, as a result, they will be the Aggies making the trip up the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike for a semifinal meeting with King's on Wednesday. October 31 (time TBA). Delaware Valley upset the Lady Monarchs, 2-1, in Doylestown earlier this season.  FDU-Florham will head to Eastern with the winner of the two contests meeting in the Freedom Conference Championship Game on Saturday, November 3. The conference champion receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III playoffs.

Eastern had a 22-3 advantage in both shots and corners on Tuesday. The Aggies had the first scoring threat early, but Courtney Woodward was stopped by Eagle goalkeeper Kylie Jones on a breakaway. Shortly after, Eastern's Kelby Bolton blasted home a shot off a corner opportunity.

Jaindl made it 2-0 with 19:24 remaining in the opening half as her shot off a penalty corner found the back of the cage. Later in the stanza, Jaindl had a one-timer off a crossing pass as the Eagles took a three-goal advantage into the intermission.

Jaindl completed her hat trick and upped her goal total to 17 on the season as she deflected a Brittany Moyer shot just 6:51 into the second half. Moyer followed with assists on Kelby's Bolton's second goal of the game (14:28 remainig) and a tally by Kaycie Andres (13:21 remaining).

Jones and Jennifer O'Neill shared the shutout for Eastern. Sandra Edwards stopped 13 shots in the loss. Delaware Valley will wrap up its regular season with a trip to Wesley College on Thursday.
