LANGHORNE (PA) – Delaware Valley College senior
Dana Gentile scored four goals as the Aggies opened the 2011 campaign with a 7-0 rout of host Philadelphia Biblical University in a non-conference game.
The four tallies by Gentile tied her for the second-highest, single-game goal total in program history. 1998 graduate and Delaware Valley Hall of Famer Emilie Replogle, who scored 94 goals in her standout career, holds the record as she netted five goals in a 1996 contest against Albright College.
Miranda Schieler opened the scoring 17 minutes into the contest as she took a pass from
Kara Fecanin and beat Crimson Eagle goalkeeper Alyssa Beltle. Just 48 seconds later, Fecanin found Gentile for a 2-0 advantage. The two teamed again with eight minutes to go before intermission, and Gentile then finished her first-half hat trick by taking a feed from
Maris Rozenblat and scoring with 3:43 remaining.
Gentile's final tally of the contest came 11 minutes into the second half with Rozenblat picking up another assist.
Nicole Huff made it 6-0 with 10:30 remaining as Schieler picked up an assist, and Rozenblat, a freshman, netted her first collegiate goal with five minutes to go.
Julie Burnell stopped three shots in net for the shutout.
