FDU-FLORHAM DOWNS DELVAL, 13-6

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – FDU-Florham scored seven times in the seventh inning as the Devils erased a 5-4 deficit and went on to a 13-6 victory over host Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference victory.

The Aggies (6-16, 3-8) had taken a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning as Pete O'Hara led off with a double and scored on a two-bagger by Zach Chodur. Chodur then scored when Kellen Jarrett singled through the left side.

It remained a one-run lead for Delaware Valley heading into the seventh when FDU-Florham (15-10, 9-6) sent 12 batters to the plate against three Aggie relievers and notched seven runs on three hits, five walks and one hit batsmen. After back-to-back walks to start the stanza, Matt Joiner tied the contest with an RBI single. Delaware Valley then got the next out before a walk loaded the bases. Number nine hitter John Pieper drew another base on balls to bring in the go-ahead run. Steve Seminiero followed with a bases-clearing double and a 9-5 advantage. After another walk, Matt Oliveto drilled a two-run double to make it 11-5.

FDU-Florham picked up two more in the top of ninth, including one on a bases-loaded walk which was the 12th free pass of the game. Delaware Valley got a bases-loaded walk of its own in the bottom of the ninth for the 13-6 final.

The Aggies got off to a strong start in the bottom of the first as O'Hara singled and Mike Otstot singled on a hit-and-run to put runners on the corners. Chodur knocked O'Hara in with a ground out and Otstot later scored on an RBI single by Jarrett.

The Devils answered with three runs in the third but Delaware Valley tied it back up in the fourth on an RBI single by Gary Cooper. An RBI double by Alex Cole in the top of the fifth put FDU-Florham back in front, before the Aggies answered with their two in the bottom of the stanza.
