HRUBOS' RECORD-SETTING PERFORMANCE LEADS AGGIES TO 16-10 VICTORY

FORT PIERCE (FL) – Designated hitter Dan Hrubos set a Delaware Valley College record by going a perfect 6-for-6 at the plate and the junior also knocked in five runs as the Aggies posted a wild, 16-10 victory over Centenary College on the team's Spring Break trip to Florida.

The win improved Delaware Valley to 2-4 on the season and it has three games remaining on the trip. The Cyclones saw their mark fall to 2-6.

Hrubos broke the previous record of five hits that was accomplished numerous times in program history. He connected for four singles and two doubles as he led an Aggie offensive attack that racked up 19 hits on the day. Hrubos also scored a pair of runs in the contest.

Delaware Valley held an 8-4 lead, but Centenary tied it up with a four spot in the top of the sixth inning. However, the Aggies responded with six runs in the bottom half of the stanza, all coming with two outs. Zach Chodur put Delaware Valley in front for good with a two-run single and Pete O'Hara followed with an RBI single. Hrubos got into the act in the inning with an RBI double and he scored on a base hit by Jake Barben. The sixth run came in as a result of a Centenary error.

O'Hara had a strong game as well as the freshman was 4-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, four runs scored and two RBIs. Barben and Kellen Jarrett notched three hits and two RBIs apiece whole Chodur finished 2-for-5 with three runs scored. 

Lou Penna was 3-for-5 with four RBIs while Brian Lemay drove in three runs with a 3-for-5 effort for the Cyclones. Matt Andrews was 4-for-6 with a run scored and an RBI in the loss.
