DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College scored seven times in the second half as the Aggies picked up their third win in a row, an 8-0 home triumph over Rosemont College.
Delaware Valley improved to 4-1 on the season and has outscored its opponents by a 24-2 margin. Three of its four victories have been by shutout. The Ravens fell to 1-3.
Delaware Valley outshot Rosemont, 17-2, in the first half but only had a 1-0 lead to show for it. That goal was a tally by
Marissa Di Miero off an assist by
Rony Jacober just 98 seconds into the contest.
However, the Aggies hit the back of the cage on seven of their 11 shots in the second stanza, including three in the opening 15 minutes.
Holly Rich began the barrage 2:30 into the half off a feed from
Nikki Rogers. Jacober then assisted on the next two goals, one by
Leah Hawthorn and another by Di Meiro for a 4-0 advantage.
Rich added her second tally of the game whole Jacober completed her five-point day with a goal off an assist by
Katy Provenzale. Roger and Mindy Minconzi finished the scoring with
Krystle Mazza getting an assist on the Miniconzi's tally.
Hollis Hancock needed to stop just three shots to earn the shutout.
