DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Eastern University completed a three-game, Freedom Conference sweep of Delaware Valley by holding on for a wild, 12-11 victory over the host Aggies.
The Eagles, which took the first two contests of the series with a pair of wins last Thursday, improved to 10-7 overall and 5-4 in the conference. Delaware Valley saw its marks fall to 8-11 and 1-8.
Eastern had to rally from a two-run deficit in the late innings after letting an 8-0 advantage slip away. Down 10-8, it got one back in the seventh on an RBI single by Andre' Butler. The Eagles then racked up three runs off of four hits in the eighth to regain the lead at 12-10. Dan Garcia tied it up with an RBI double and, three batters later, Ramon Reyes ripped a two-run double down the left field line.
The Aggies made it a one-run contest in the bottom of the eighth thanks to an Eastern error. They then threatened in the ninth as

Sam Giunta moved up to second on a sacrifice bunt by
Gary Cooper. However, Eastern pitcher Joel Rios got a strikeout and a pop out to end the game and earn the save.
The Eagles jumped out to their big lead thanks to two runs in the first and six more in the second. Matt Horican had a solo home run in the first and Reyes added an RBI double in the stanza. The second inning saw Eastern send 10 men to the plate thanks to three hits and four Delaware Valley errors.
The Aggies began their rally in the bottom of the second as Kerns (double), Cooper (single) and

Mike Isgro, who entered last week ranked in the top 10 in Division III in three major categories (this week's rankings have not been released yet. Isgro drove a pitch to deep center field that Butler tried to track down but couldn't. Butler then collided into the fence and the ball rolled free. All three runners on base scored and Isgro came all the way around as well for the inside the park, grand-slam home run and an 8-8 ballgame.
The Aggies made it 10 straight runs as two scored on an Eastern throwing error on a sacrifice bunt in the sixth. However, the Eagles rebounded with a rally of its own and held on at the end for the three-game sweep.
