AGGIES' COMEBACK BID FALLS SHORT IN 9-7 SETBACK

FORT PIERCE (FL) – Delaware Valley College saw its five-game winning streak come to an end with a 9-7 loss to Rutgers University-Camden on the team's Spring Break trip to Florida.

The loss dropped the Aggies to 5-2 on the season while the Scarlet Raptors improved to 9-7. Delaware Valley has one game remaining on its trip – a Friday morning contest with Bethany College – before its heads back North. The Aggies will then get right back into the swing of things as they host FDU-Florham for a Freedom Conference doubleheader on Sunday.

Rutgers-Camden took a 7-0 lead in the contest, before the Aggies rallied and pulled to within, 8-7, in the eighth inning. However, the Scarlet Raptors added an insurance run and Delaware Valley could not complete the comeback bid.

Matt Giberson was 2-for-3 with three RBIs while Dan Hrubos was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Jake Barben went 3-for-4 and scored two runs while Mike Isgro went 2-for-5 and saw his batting average “drop” to .593 on the season. Brian Hafer pitched six innings and suffered the loss.
