OWINGS MILLS (MD) –
Michelle Cernobyl scored four goals and Bethany Pavlik tied a school record with four assists as Delaware Valley College advanced to the championship game of the Black Eyed Susan Tournament with a 7-0 victory over Morrisville State College.
The Aggies will take on Johns Hopkins University in Sunday's championship game at 4:00 p.m. Stevenson University (formerly Villa Julie College) is the host of the tournament, which Delaware Valley won last year.
Cernobyl, the Aggies' all-time leader in both goals and points, started her senior year in fine fashion as she scored two of the team's first three goals and later added tallies in the second half. She now has 50 goals and 112 points in her career.
Pavlik, a junior, and the team's leading scorer last season (50 points) assisted on two of Cernobyl's goals and added two others to tie teammate Danielle Heyne for the single-game mark.
Lauren Lansberry notched a goal and an assist while Stephanie Dec and Danielle Heyne also had tallies. Meanwhile, the Delaware Valley defense did not allow a single shot by Morrisville. Jackie Deschenes and Hollis Hancock combined for the shutout.
