DOYLESTOWN, PA. - Delaware Valley baseball begins the 2024 season tomorrow visiting Rosemont College for a doubleheader after their home opener scheduled for today, Saturday, February 24 was postponed.
The Aggies missed the playoffs last year, finishing sixth in the MAC Freedom conference just behind Wilkes, who is no longer in the MAC. DelVal held a 15-22 overall record going 9-14 in conference play.
The Freedom only gets tougher this season with Lebanon Valley joining. The Dutchmen won the MAC Commonwealth Championship in 2023 and went 3-2 in the DIII Regional tournament, falling to No. 1 Lynchburg. LVC held a 31-17-1 overall record.
Head coach Kyle Fleming is hopeful for this season and looks to make a push to the playoffs with his experienced team. Team leaders Jonathan Drews, Hank Bielen, and Ethan Saxe all return with nine first years.
After a handful of games, the Aggies go to Vero Beach, Florida for spring break playing seven games against Norwich, Ursinus, Elizabethtown, Capital, Wilkes, and PSU Behrend. MAC Freedom play begins March 15th hosting DeSales University at 3:30 p.m. at home.
