Box Score DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University baseball team saw its four-game win-streak snapped as visiting Gwynedd Mercy University earned a 26-10 victory in non-conference play on Tuesday afternoon.
The Griffins (14-15) raced out to an 8-0 lead with eight runs on six hits in the third and extended the lead to 13-1 headed to the bottom of the fifth.
The Aggies (13-17) chipped away with three runs on two hits in the fifth, but left the bases loaded as it spoiled a chance to pull closer. Gavin Migliori had had two-RBI single in the frame that made it a 13-4 game after five.
Despite DelVal scoring six in the seventh, Gwynedd Mercy piled on three in the top of the seventh and another 10 in the eighth to open up a 26-10 advantage.
The Griffins finished the game with 26 runs on 18 hits and took advantage of four Aggie errors. DelVal posted 10 runs on nine hits with two errors charged to the visitors.
Miglori led the Green and Gold with a 3-for-3 effort, two RBI, a walk, a run scored, and two stolen bases. Jimmy Kelly followed two hits and a run scored and Evan Scally was 1-for-2 with two RBI and two runs scored.
Gwynedd Mercy had three players with three hits including Rob Bailey who added five RBI and five runs scored.
The Aggies will regroup ahead of a conference series with DeSales that begins in Doylestown at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
