HERSHEY (PA) – Delaware Valley University's
Rachel Brahler is in the top 10 at the halfway point of the 2018 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championship, taking place on the East Course of the Hershey Country Club.
The Aggies are not in the team standings as they are one of six schools that does not have four golfers in the field. Alvernia University leads the field with a 362, 12 strokes ahead of Stevenson University.
Brahler is tied with Stevenson's Elise Glauser for ninth place as she finished her first conference tournament round with a 24-over-par 95. That score has her just four strokes behind fourth place and no DelVal women's golfer has finished in top 10 in the four-year history of the program.
Brahler parred the second hole, par-3 to highlight her 49 on the front nine. She was even better in the back nine with a 46, highlighted by a par of the 18
th hole (par 4).
Teammates
Camryn Shaw and
Kayla Bracken also hit the course for the first time in their careers. Shaw, a freshman, shot a 137 in the first round to put her 47
th in the field of 53. Bracket is 51
st following her round of 147.
