Box Score 2 ABINGTON (PA) – Delaware Valley University's last non-conference games of the season saw the Aggies drop a doubleheader to host Penn State-Abington, 2-1 and 9-6.
DelVal slipped under the .500 mark as it is now 13-14. The Aggies have four Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom games remaining (unless any postponed games are rescheduled), starting with a home twinbill against Manhattanville College on Saturday, April 23.

Katelynn Reed with an RBI single. The Lions (15-11) took the lead in the bottom of the third on a two-run double by Becca Dougherty.
After Penn State-Abington went ahead, its pitcher, Jennifer Rakita, did not allow a hit the rest of the way. The Aggies did threaten in the sixth as
Morgan Brown drew a two-out walk and Koraima was hit by a pitch. However, Rakita got the next batter on a ground out and retired DelVal in order in the seventh for the win.
Jamie Stefani took the loss despite allowed just two runs and four hits over six innings. She also fanned six batters.
Maddy O'Donohue had two hits in four at-bats.
The Aggies took a 3-0 lead in the second game as Reed had a two-run single in the first and
Kelly Gruber had an inside-the-park home run in the second. The Lions responded with four runs in their half of the second, but back came DelVal in the third as Reed doubled in a run and then scored on a single by Brown.
Penn State-Abington took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning, all on a double by Natalie Duvall. It padded its lead with two runs in the fourth before the Aggies got their final tally in the fifth on an RBI ground out by Brown.
Reed was 2-for-3 with three RBI while Brown knocked in two on a 1-for-3 effort. Rice took the loss. Duvall and Greta Sheridan had three RBI apiece for the Lions.
