DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Seventh-inning heroics in game two lifted Delaware Valley softball to a sweep of King's College in the 2026 regular-season finale. Madison Donnelly also made history, collecting five hits on the day to become Delaware Valley's all-time career hits leader with 170, surpassing head coach Jamie Stefani's previous record of 167 set from 2016-19.
Game 1 | Delaware Valley 10 – King's 0
Madison Karns opened with a 1-2-3 first inning before the Aggie offense got rolling in the second. With two outs, Karns singled to left center, and Kenzie Boyd followed with an infield single. Both runners came around to score when Angelina Bresnen tripled to center, giving DelVal a 2-0 lead.
Karns added an RBI in the third, singling through the left side to score Tori Bockrath after she reached on a fielder's choice.
In the fourth, Tessa Fredericks delivered a one-out single up the middle to score Jillian Collins and make it 4-0.
The Aggies broke the game open in the fifth. With one out and two on, Boyd dropped down an infield bunt single to score Laila Murray. After Bresnen was hit by a pitch and Collins reached on a fielder's choice to load the bases, Donnelly reached on an error that allowed Boyd and Bresnen to score. Fredericks then launched a three-run homer to left field, her third of the season, to cap the 10-0 win.
Karns earned the complete-game victory, improving to 11-5 after allowing just two hits with two strikeouts.
Game 2 | Delaware Valley 5 – King's 3
After the Aggies stranded two runners in the first, King's struck first in the bottom half. With two on, Badali singled to left center to score Goldspiel and Krouse, both unearned due to a pair of Delaware Valley errors.
DelVal answered in the second by loading the bases, and Bresnen cut the deficit in half with an RBI single through the left side.
The Aggies took the lead in the fifth. Tori Bockrath lifted a sacrifice fly to score Collins, and after Laila Murray reached, Amelia Funston singled to right to bring home Fredericks for a 3-2 advantage. Jillian Ulozas was then hit by a pitch to load the bases, but a lineout ended the threat.
King's tied the game in the sixth when Wilson reached on a fielder's choice that allowed Veach to score. Delaware Valley responded defensively, cutting down a runner at home before turning a 6-4-3 double play to keep the score tied at three.
In the seventh, Murray sparked the rally with a leadoff double to right and moved to third on a Funston single. Ulozas reached on a bunt single and advanced to second on the play. Boyd then ripped a single to center to score Murray and give the Aggies the lead. Bresnen followed with a sacrifice fly to bring home Ulozas and provide the final 5-3 margin.
The Monarchs put a runner on in the bottom of the seventh after an error, but Karns closed it out with a pop-out and a groundout. She earned her 12th win of the season after coming on in relief of Morgan Mecham in the sixth inning.
Delaware Valley finishes the season 29-9 overall and 8-6 in MAC Freedom play.
