Box Score ALLENTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University volleyball team rallied from a 2-1 deficit to take the final two sets and down host Cedar Crest College, 3-2, in a non-conference match on Monday. Set scores were 25-13, 15-25, 13-25, 25-19 and 16-14.
The win improved the Aggies to 4-12 while the Falcons fell to 6-10.
Down 2-1 in sets, DelVal found itself up by just one, 20-19, in the fourth set. However, the Aggies responded with five straight points to force a deciding fifth set.
In the fifth, DelVal trailed early on and was still down 8-7 when it took three straight points for the lead. Back came Cedar Crest with four of the next five for a 12-11 advantage. However, the Falcons committed three consecutive errors and DelVal had a pair of match points. The Aggies squandered those opportunities, but a
Kayla Bracken kill made it 15-14 and DelVal had another match point. This time, the Aggies put it away as
Nicole Daigneault notched the match-clinching kill.
Freshman
Kate Woolsey had a big night for DelVal as she registered nine kills, 14 digs and seven service aces.
Taylor Klecan added nine kills and 14 digs. Bracken finished the evening with seven kills as did teammate
Alexis Sideris.
Jess Holster dug out nine balls and Daigneault produced four kills, nine digs and 25 assists.
For Cedar Crest, Maggie Olock had 13 kills and 12 digs. Nicole Hill added 10 kills while Steph Barr had 34 assists and 10 digs.
The Aggies will travel to Manhattanville College on Wednesday, October 12 for a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom match
