Box Score 2 WILKES-BARRE (PA) – Delaware Valley University got into the win column for the first time in 2015 as the Aggies split a tri-match at Wilkes University. DelVal opened with a 3-0 win over Cairn University before dropping a 3-0 decision to the host Colonels.
The split left the Aggies' record at 1-5. While Wilkes is a fellow Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom school, the match was not a conference contest as the two will meet again in Doylestown on September 30.
DelVal downed Cairn (0-9) by set scores of 25-12, 25-19 and 25-17. The Aggies had 16 kills and 20 services in the match while Cairn had 14 kills (19 errors) and just four aces.
Kayla Bracken notched eight kills, eight aces and six digs to pace the victors.
Taylor Klecan added five kills and four digs while
Nicole Daigneault's numbers included 15 assists, four aces and four digs.
The Wilkes match was next and the Aggies fell by set scores of 25-8, 25-16 and 25-11 as the Lady Colonels improved to 7-6. Wilkes recorded 32 kills to just seven errors while DelVal committed 15 errors in 60 attack attempts and wound up with just nine kills.
Klecan and
Kourtney Campbell had two kills apiece with Klecan leading the defensive effort with eight digs. Daigneault dished out nine assists.
