Box Score 2 READING (PA) – Albright College permitted just four hits on the afternoon as the host swept a non-conference twinbill from Delaware Valley University, 5-0 and 8-0 (5 innings).
The Lions (12-7) received two-hit shutouts from pitcher Sammi O'Connor and Riley Gerenda. Neither allowed a walk as O'Connor fanned 10 Aggies banners while Gerenda had five strikeouts.
Albright picked up three runs in the first inning of the opener and added two more in the third. Three players had two hits apiece while Regina Milburn knocked in two runs. Delaware Valley (1-15) got its base runners with singles by
Kelly Gruber and
Kelsey Stoneberg.
Hannah Robinson went three innings and took the loss.
In the nightcap, Gruber and
Kendall Young had the singles for the Aggies. Meanwhile, the Lions scored two in the first, four in the third and two in the fourth. Milburn had a home run as she went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
Ashley Rice pitched four innings and allowed just four earned runs for Delaware Valley.
