Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MYRTLE BEACH (SC) – The Delaware Valley College softball team opened its 2015 season by dropping a pair of games on its Spring Break trip to South Carolina. The Aggies fell 8-0 in six innings to MacMurray College (IL) and followed with a 14-8 setback to Mount Aloysius College (PA).
 
The first game saw the Highlanders (1-0) hold Delaware Valley to five hits – all by separate players in the game as Jaimey Watrous hurled a complete-game shutout. MacMurray scored four in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the sixth for its scoring.
 
The Aggies fared better offensively in the nightcap as they scored four runs in the first with a two-run single by Ashley Rice, an RBI double by Kelsey Stoneberg and a run-scoring single from Nicole Ebersole.
 
Delaware Valley scored two in the second, including another RBI double from Stoneberg. Sydney Edwards then added to the lead with an inside-the-park home run in the third.
 
However, Mount Aloysius (1-1) came back with four runs in the fourth and put five on the board in the sixth, en route to the win.
 
Stoneberg was 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs for Delaware Valley. Edwards was 3-for-4 with the home run and two RBIs while Rice was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
