Box Score 2 MYRTLE BEACH (SC) – Delaware Valley College concluded its Spring Break trip to South Carolina with a pair of losses on Thursday. The Aggies opened with a 9-2 setback to Iowa Wesleyan College and followed with a 15-1, fifth-inning loss to Bridgewater College.
In the Iowa Wesleyan game, the Tigers (3-4) scored a run in the first, two in the second, one in the fourth and three in the fifth for a 7-0 lead. Delaware Valley got on the board in the top of the sixth as
Kelly Gruber singled and scored on a
Hannah Robinson triple. Robinson then crossed the plate on
Kelsey Stoneberg's RBI single. Iowa Wesleyan then notched the final two tallies of the game in its half of the sixth.
In the Bridgewater contest, the Aggies evened the game up at 1-1 in the bottom of the first as an error, a walk and a single loaded the bases with no out and Stoneberg drove in a tally with a sacrifice fly.
The rest of the game, belonged to the Eagles (5-3) as they scored four runs in the second and added five more in both the third and fourth innings. The racked up 14 hits on the day while the Aggies managed just five.
Delaware Valley (0-8) is off until March 21 when it travels to DeSales University for a Freedom Conference doubleheader.
