Box Score 4 MYRTLE BEACH (SC) – Delaware Valley College continued its Spring Break trip to South Carolina with a pair of losses on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Aggies (0-6) dropped a 5-1 decision to Ursinus College and an 8-2 score to Penn College of Technology on Tuesday. Twenty-four later, they suffered 8-0 and 11-2 setbacks to Dickinson College and SUNY-IT respectively.
Against Ursinus, Delaware Valley got its lone run in the top of the first when
Kelly Gruber singled in
Hannah Robinson. Gruber,
Nicole Ebersole and
Sydney Edwards had two hits apiece for the Aggies. However, Ursinus scored one in the first, three in the second and one in the fifth for the win.
Robinson had three hits, a run scored and an RBI in the loss to Penn College.
Ashley Rice had an RBI double in the game. Penn put the game away early with a four-run first inning.
Delaware Valley was held to three hits by Dickinson pitcher Katie Swade. The Red Devils got their scoring with a run in the second, four in the third and three more in the fifth as the game was called after five innings due to the eight-run mercy rule.
The SUNY-IT game was also a five-inning contest as the Wildcats scored eight runs in the fifth inning. Delaware Valley got its runs as
Kelsey Stoneberg walked in the second and scored on a ground out by
Lauren Alvarez while Robinson singled in the fifth and crossed home plate on a double by Ebersole.
Delaware Valley will ends its trip on Thursday with single games against Iowa Wesleyan and Bridgewater.
