Box Score 2 CAMDEN (NJ) -- The Delaware Valley College volleyball team posted a split at the Rutgers-Camden tri-match on Thursday evening. The Aggies opened the night with a 3-0 loss to Rutgers-Newak but regrouped for a 3-1 triumph over the host school.
The Rutgers-Newak match saw Delaware Valley fall by set scores 25-17, 25-22 and 25-18. Sharee Gordon paced the victors with 10 kills while Sue Riley led the defensive effort with 23 digs. For the Aggies, freshmen
Maria Cameron and
Taylor Klecan had seven kills apiece while combining for 19 digs.
Gina Page added six kills and 10 digs and fellow senior
Crystal Ronan had 17 digs to go along with 22 assists.
In the final match of the night, Delaware Valley jumped out to a 2-0 lead by taking the first two sets by scores of 25-13 and 25-17. The Scarlet Raptors took the third, 26-24, before the Aggies clinched it with a 25-23 score in the fourth set to improve to 2-11 on the season. They had 38 kills in the contest, including 16 from Cameron. She also added 15 digs and four blocks. Klecan had 10 kills and 14 digs while Page had seven kills and 14 digs.
Amy Bodine added a career-best 18 digs. Ronan had 30 assists and 16 digs.
